魯一居的迷思

昨晚和大王晚飯 at mega box 魯一居,
是因為一心想要嚐嚐外邊的山東菜 (魚媽是山東人).
大王說如果好吃會帶魚媽及公公來.

以下, 便是沒有仔細看過門口的餐牌的後果.....

(對話)
餐聽門口操不純正廣東話的侍應生 (侍)

侍: 幾位小姐?
魚: 2位
侍: 打邊爐定係火煱 ?
魚: 吓?......... , er.....小菜...... (忍不住笑)
侍: 好呀, 晚飯.
魚: (想點 ? 晚上7點半不成晚飯難道來午飯 ?!!!)

入坐後
侍: 我們有套餐同 "P 灑".....
魚&大王各自沉思.
隔一會, 相討為何這裡有 "pizza".
有人可以告訴我嗎 ?!

至於這裡的食物好吃否.....
我們點了: 山東燒雞, 魯家魚餃, 山東川鹵麵, 小籠包.
前3樣完全不及格, 完全不是餸菜本來應有的味道...
反而, 不是山東食物的上海小籠包味道還不錯.

埋單送我們coupon, 我們沒有拿走, 不會來了.
最近很少寫食評,
不是因為沒有外出用饍, 只是最近真的沒有食運.

happy rainy day

finally, it's 28 dec 08 today !
it's maggie + ken's wedding, i met the bride about 1.5 years ago,
and the groom about half an year ago.


maggie is a loving girl and now becoming a loving wife.
i didn't know why she ordered so much ribbon at first, & now i know.
very pretty decoration at the church;
the pink theme matched perfectly in the whole wedding.

happy wedding to you two !!!

eric & i had a nice walk in the afternoon and did some shopping at harbour city... finally!
it will be chinese new year in less than 1 month time,
will be very busy in the coming month lae.
will work on the 水仙 tomorrow first !

x'mas dinner @ home

we chose to dine at home to have a peaceful x'mas night.

rib-eye + brussel sprouts (in butter lemon sauce)

the sauce is learnt from TV last night :P

wild mushroom risotto, our all time favorite.

soap making IV : bakery factory

it seems that it's more fun to me to decorate the soap than anything else.

the base of the soap this time are:

avocado oil, sweet almond oil,

olive oil, coconut oil,

palm oil and shea butter.

a very gentle recipe for the skin. but the texture is comparatively soft, and need to wait for 2 days to unmold.

i used the paper tart molds which gives the lovely shape of my soap :P

and it's so much fun to play with the icing topping.

they are like the 花占餅 (a kind of biscuit that we have when we are kids.)

a romantic silent night

we had a wedding job in the afternoon on the day b4 x'mas.
it's leona&ken's wedding with the purple + silver theme.

the set-up process was very smooth, able to finish it by 3:30pm

it's above satisfactory :P

they played a song of 曹格 during our set-up, very romantic atmosphere there.

(but i don't know the name of the song lae)

and we watched twilight at the grand cinema at night!

i love this movie, 超romantic !

(but eric thinks it's a 攪笑片 ?!)

want to read the books now.

another must see movie :P

gift wrapping

i did a lot of things today:

firstly, made a stamp for handmade soap.

it has been a long time i haven't worked on rubber stamp making,

last time was 1.5 yrs ago.

it's a challenge to work on letters, esp small ones,

but i think this time is quite successful :P

& then packed the handmade soap for a friend as x'mas gift.

lastly, packed the gift for exchange on boxing day

(there will be a bbq party with friends at night),

but i wish i can have this gift back..haha.....i like this can :P

x'mas spirit

we moved in here for 3 years;
every x'mas, i'll hang a x'mas wreath on the door.
& my neighbours will follow to hang different ornaments on their doors.

in the past 2 years, i bought a ready to hang one from flower market.
this year, i decided to buy different pine leaves to diy.
the smell of pine is filled in the house !


there were extra materials to make a small one for my brother.


& another small one for the dinning table :P

soap making III : sobert

1st time to make the 2-layer one
i named this series "sobert"; love the color combination.
(actually they are same as these).
the 2 color layers were made in 2 seperate nights,

but i failed to cut them in perfect rectangular shape.....v. ugly @_@
& about half of them just broke when i cut them....
so, i now have many small soap bars in ivory/ pink single color !!!!...sigh....
i must experiment again to find the right time/condition to cut them.

(joanna, i cannot find the kind of knife from ikea ar!)

海角七號

watched 海角七號 movie with eric this noon..... (yes, we are kind of late.)

the movie is really really good !!!! glad we didn't miss it .

i cried everytime the japanese teacher read the letter, together with the background music.

(oh, we have bought the sound-track previously.)

songs are also goooood, very touching ar!!!!

go watch it if you still have not !

homemade dessert...not.... homemade soap

dun dun dun dunnnnnnnn~~~~~~
unmolded last night, and added some icing on them !!!
i really love these 2 ! they look delicious !

want to buy more cake molds and make some yummy dessert soaps :P

soap making II : savon de marseilles

bought this v. good reference book last saturday.
it explains the most basic soap: marseilles soap (馬賽香皂) which composes of 72% of oliver oil; and it's variations....

have studied v. hard on it (almost 3 hrs !!!), and recorded down the details & formulation of my first batch.
i was sooooo worry that the formula was calculated wrong...
so checked and checked again... @_@

the color of savon of marseilles should be cream in color,
i added a little bit of red reef clay in it, so as to make it looks pink.
i further added about 30 drops of rose fragrance oil in it...hope the smell of rose is enough.

now wait for 2 days to unmold it..... nervous !

soap making I

brought them home the other night.
still soft, so i stamped on them !!!
the brown color was due to addition of rosehip powder, pretty!

have to wait for 1 month for full maturation;
otherwise they will be too alkaline to use.
wait wait wait...

i will homemade another batch this weekend,
all the equipments + material are ready !
getting excited !

i am using the gift "ginger soap" from Linda now.
i must tell all of you that it's really different from the commercial liquid detergent,
no more itchy skin, and the foam are very creamy.
loving it, loving it !
